Ce qui signifie donc que le season premiere est d’ores et déjà disponible sur Canal Plus Series le deuxième arrive la semaine prochaine. L’occasion de nous plonger dans le nouvel univers obscur et déjanté proposé par Ryan Murphy après des mois de teasing alléchant. Alors, ces derniers sont-ils à la hauteur de la réputation de la franchise ? Le scénariste le plus abondant du moment les séries Netflix Hollywood et Ratched en sont de bons exemples a-t-il su trouver l’inspiration à nouveau ? Découvrez sans plus attendre notre verdict. Qu’est-ce-qu’on a aimé dans l’épisode 1 et 2 de la saison 10 d’American Horror Story ? Honnêtement, c’est une très bonne surprise ! Alors qu’on pensait Ryan Murphy en panne d’inspiration après neuf saisons à user jusqu’à la corde les différentes thématiques et codes du genre horrifique, le réalisateur prolifique il faut bien le dire parvient à nous cueillir avec une toute nouvelle inspiration. Un concept novateur et métaphorique l’angoisse de la page blanche. Car oui, c’est bien de ça dont il est question dans cette première partie intitulée Red Tide. Au-delà des aspects purement visuels, l’intrigue possède une double lecture. Avec ce deuxième regard plus profond, Ryan Murphy dépeint une critique plutôt juste et frappante de la course au succès. Insidieusement, le showrunner pose cette question primordiale jusqu’où certains sont prêts à aller pour devenir des célébrités reconnues dans le monde artistique ? Dans cette dixième saison, ce n’est d’ailleurs pas au diable qu’on propose de vendre son âme mais plutôt à la Chimiste. Un protagoniste mystérieux qui semble avoir trouvé les ingrédients magiques pour offrir prospérité et abondance aux artistes à l’aide d’une petite pilule. Une drogue douce et d’apparence inoffensive, mais qui a pourtant des effets secondaires indésirables. Sans sa dose quotidienne, un consommateur se transforme en vampire assoiffé de sang. De là à faire un parallèle avec l’enfer du plagiat, il n’y a qu’un pas ! En seulement deux épisodes ce qui est plutôt coriace, Ryan Murphy parvient donc à nous asséner une satire efficace de la machine à broyer qu’est Hollywood, sans oublier de taper un coup sur les plateformes de streaming. Coté casting, ce dernier est comme à son habitude parfait. On voit que les acteurs ont l’habitude de travailler avec la plume de Ryan Murphy. Mention spéciale à Sarah Palson qui est d’ailleurs méconnaissable en Karen la tuberculeuse. En ce qui concerne la performance de Macaulay Culkin, on attend d’en voir plus avant de statuer. Enfin, d’un point de vue technique, Ryan Murphy fait du Ryan Murphy. Un soin immense est porté à l’ambiance avec une splendide photographie la colorimétrie est top et une musicalité au diapason. Le rythme plutôt rapide ne laisse d’ailleurs la place à aucun temps mort. Un régal pour le moment ! Qu’est-ce-qu’on a moins aimé dans l’épisode 1 et 2 de la saison 10 d’American Horror Story ? Honnêtement, il n’y a rien que nous ayons moins aimé dans ces deux premiers épisodes de la saison 10 d’American Horror Story. Si vous faites partie des fans qui ont été progressivement insatisfaits par les propositions faites dans les saisons précédentes, on vous invite quand même à vous plonger sans aucun apriori dans ce nouvel univers décalé proposé par Ryan Murphy. Car vraiment, vous ne serez pas déçus ! La seule question qui nous taraude est de savoir désormais comment l’intrigue de la première partie sera mêlée avec celle de la seconde qui introduira pour rappel des aliens.
